Water is the element of winter, the time to pause and gather strength. Water gives us our adaptability and will-power.
Plants and trees are stripped bare during winter, and so it is a time for self-recollection in all of us, where we are at our truest essence.
Winter is the time for storing energy, meditating, concentrating and conserving. Winter is the most yin time of the year, when nature’s energy is inward looking, latent and potent. The energy is resting deep within, collected and held in reserve. Winter is cold and dark, qualities that preserve and store. It is the concentrated, internal force of winter that enables a seed to burst forth in spring growth.
Storing energy gives us courage and without courage we feel fear. Fear is the emotion that is associated with the Water Element. In appropriate amounts it is essential, however when it becomes imbalanced it can hold us back from completing what we set out to achieve.
Wisdom of Water in winter:
Our signature scent, Sea of Calm is inspired by the acupuncture point Sea of Qi or Bladder 24. This point is seen as a reservoir of qi, which sums up the whole of the Water Element; storing, resting and conserving for future growth.
We currently have a Wash for your hands or body, an Oil for your bath or body, and a scent using only natural ingredients including essential oils of Geranium, Lavender, Patchouli & Petitgrain which is absolutely safe to spritz directly onto your skin for a fabulously balancing reservoir of yumminess.
