About Us

five element tradition

hug Collection is centred on the natural rhythms and cycles of the Five Elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water and their fundamental relationship with the five seasons of Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Founded by Anna, a Five Element acupuncturist,   hug is rooted in an ancient healing tradition linking our health and wellbeing with natures cycles and our environment.

Based in Dorset, hug is committed to offering beautiful, highest quality products considerate of our surroundings and your connection with it.

Why the curious names?

known as the 'Spirit of the Points,' each of the body's 350 acupuncture points has a name. These are translated from the original Chinese and wonderfully evocative.

These poetic names give clues as to what each point does and understanding these can give real insight into the beauty and spirituality of the meridian system.

Each product is named to reflect that source of inspiration to guide you, to help you discover the world through the prism of the Five Elements... and to make you smile :)

Community

Although our range is centred around nature, our products are nothing without people and communities. That's why we are thrilled that hug is partnered with The Princes Trust and with every purchase of our range we donate to projects supporting young people to build a better future for themselves and their communities

hug - verb UK /hʌɡ/ US /hʌɡ/ to hold someone close to show that you like, love, or value them
